extremely bright light?

This has happened to me twice, last night being the second time. the first time i was sleeping and i start to see this extremely bright light that kind of burned my eyes... it felt so real.. anywhoo the first time it happened i got scared cause it started off small then it got brighter and closer, i got a little freaked cause i thought i was about to die..LOL silly i know but thats what i thought so i woke up, last night the same thing happened... any one have a similar incident happen? any ideas? thanks =).. god bless =)

What color was the light that you saw?

Just as a precautionary measure - please pay a visit to your ophthalmologist. The described event can happen when the retina tears or detaches.
