I had someone tell me another attibute of pomegranates and that is that they have many seeds.

Pomegranates are used in the Bible as a symbol of love, partly, I'm sure, because of their sweet, delicious flavor.
Let us rise early and go to the vineyards; Let us see whether the vine has budded And its blossoms have opened, And whether the pomegranates have bloomed. There I will give you my love. (Song of Solomon 7:12)

In the following instruction....
You shall make on its hem pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet material, all around on its hem, and bells of gold between them all around: a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, all around on the hem of the robe. (from Exodus 33)
.....I have heard it said that the bells represent the manifestations of the Spirit and the pomegranates the fruit of the Spirit, particularly love - if the priest did not have the "pomegranates" he would be loudly clanging (1 Corinthians 13:2), wouldn't he?

Another interesting thing could be the root word for pomegranate in the Hebrew - it means to be exalted or lifted up.

I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning...
Ezekiel 3:17
