Huge American flag rips during national anthem at World Seri

AN FRANCISCO — Game 3 of the World Series got off to a rough start Friday, as a huge hole formed in the enormous American flag the Giants unfurled in the outfield during the national anthem.

As country quartet Little Big Town began performing "The Star-Spangled Banner," the unfurling of the flag began, and it was quickly evident that there was a problem, as the seam between the seventh and eighth stripes on the flag split, right at the junction with the blue field.

The people at the top part of the flag got out of alignment and were too far out, putting pressure on the seams.
