What does a check book mean?

Like balancing a check book specifically

First things that came to mind are...

counting the cost ( ref Luke 14:28 )

don't write checks you can't cash, i.e. don't make promises you can't keep

keeping a balance in life is important

What if you're doing it for someone else? Like balancing someone else's?

hummm to me that would be like taking a balance of the other persons life, or helping them get a balance into their life.

Agree, balance. I use a checkbook as a visual aid when teaching. In that context it represents one's faith and obedience to God.

I was looking at a friend's red journal that said how much he loved God and I was going to be balancing his check book which was in the journal. Then he walked into the room.
