I have had this happen hundreds of times where I'll be in that state between asleep and awake and I will here an explosion but it's in my head the veracity of the explosions very from very powerful to just a pop really strange is anyone familiar with what I'm talking about
Apparently it's a real thing and it's called "exploding head syndrome"
