Gonna call my mom

Post by imavessel »

I woke up yesterday morning and had a very plain picture in my mind-

The dream was seeing myself and in it saying that I was about to call my mom.

& It felt real, like - I thought I really needed to call her- or should-

& Was calling her

& Also- like I fully expected I would be talking to her and her to me.

My mom passed in August of '06.

Didn't see much but knew it was bright sunshiny-

Woke up and actually was still thinking I was about to place that call.

???

*Now I realize Sunday is Mother's Day here, but, no offense to mom, I was up in New York for a wedding and really wasn't thinking about anything about mom or much of anything but what I was doing up there. So, still has struck me very odd.

& Will not say a few thoughts that flitered through my mind----unless I happened to see someone else post similar.

:/

Vessel:

Your post touched my heart. My mom is now in the nursing home after suffering two heart attacks and two strokes (all within the last three weeks). This is the first Mother's Day that I can't call her and talk with her and tell her "Happy Mother's Day". She is too far gone to have a conversation with anymore. We are awaiting the phone call that will tell us she has passed on.

Twenty or so years ago we lived several states away from my mom---we were too poor to be able to visit her. It was tough...our four kids were still young and missed their grandma. I used to have dreams about calling my mom on the phone (we were very close at this time...not so much the last ten years) and while I was on the phone with her the call would fade to the point of not being able to hear her. Not pleasant dreams.

I don't know what your dream means. It does make me wonder if we try to connect with a part of ourselves that is tied to our family in this life. I don't want to sound new-agey...we are all growing and maturing in Christ and who knows what is transpiring during that growth process. Maybe we constantly let go of people so we can hold unto our Savior with all our hearts.

Blessings to you on this Mother's Day.
"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ." Galatians 1:3

I wonder if the Lord is asking you to recall something your mother had taught you?
