Jesus in my dream

Post by rsf82 »

3 years ago I had this dream and it changed me permanently, but little did I know at the time that it would be the 1st of now 4 dreams that I have had that I know were by the hand of God. This first one set me on an incredible course of all consuming study of God, theology, and developing a closer relationship with Him, but being that I have had more than one of these dreams, I have now begun to study biblical dream interpretation in hopes that I may find meaning and message beyond the initial effect of the experiences I have had, and in doing so, I came across this site. My hope is to get some feedback from fellow christians who may help with insight. So here goes.
In my dream I was in what appeared to be a market place street in an ancient stone setting with pillars and archways (what I since have recognized as an ancient jerusalem kind of setting). About 15 feet in front of me there were a small group of people (4 or 5) standing in front of a brilliant blue square on the ground. It was radiant but no bigger than like a 3 by 3 square and it was reflective like water, but wasn't water. One of the women kind of waved at me and said, "This is where we pray. Would you like to come pray with us?" I said ok, kind of reluctant and causually and walked over and by myself knelt on one side of the square. As I closed my eyes, I was immediately shifted to a different perspective and was looking down at myself kneeling and Jesus was kneeling in front of me facing me on the other side of the square. From my perspective I could see the back of him and the front of me across from him and I still had my head down. I watched myself extend my arms to hug him and lifted my head to look at him and as my fingers touched behind his neck, I started shaking and I looked straight up and opened my mouth and the only way I could describe it was that a sound came out. It was like song, but not audible words and beautiful. I then released my "hug" and opened my eyes and I was back in me, still kneeling and I look at the people standing there and asked, "Did you just see that?" as I was kind of jumping back up to my feet. They looked at me kind of confused and said "See what?" And I said "Watch, watch. I will do it again". So I went back to that side of the square, knelt down, closed my eyes, and again I was looking from above down at me, and I went to hug him and as soon as my fingers touched I began shaking, looked straight up, opened my mouth, the sound again poured out....and I woke up. I was so shaken by this when I awoke as you could probably imagine. It has been the first of many things that I have since experienced and have had a profound impact on me, but when I have told people about it they think it's amazing, but have never been able to offer assistance in explanation, lol. Through biblical study, I have begun to unfold the meaning of the dream and the signifigance in some of the details, but I decided to post this to get some additional feedback. And again this seems to be the way God has choosen to speak to me since then. I have had 4 dreams over the past 3 years, but only 2 of them Christ himself has actually appeared in. I welcome the idea of feedback as to what they mean for me and finding out what my destiny and purpose are because I know that somehow this is all leading to a calling for me, but that it isn't about me at all. Thank you for reading this :-) Rachel

Hi Rachel,

Reading this dream was a blessing and very encouraging to me. Perhaps the point of the dream is to do what you are doing now. Changing perspectives, drawing near to Him, and pointing others to Him. This is truly a beautiful dream. I've had similar dreams that have permanently changed me. The setting of your dream reminds me to stop over complicating things with all of the distractions of modern life and abide in Him.

Luke 10:27
NIV
He answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

John 15:9
NIV
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love."

You are precious and greatly loved by God. Sometimes I think all of the books and studies we do just remind us of that. It's nice to be reminded that The Lord knows your heart and desire to be close to Him.

I am also reminded of the verse "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." I pray for those who are lost and who don't see themselves Loved by God.

Thank you for sharing your dream! It ministered to me. God Bless :)

Hi Rachel,
As I read your dream, i'm led to think about how it is right and true to always be in prayer about all things as instructed in the bible. . .yet when we humble ourselves and get down on bended knee - that is for no other reason than to pray thru Jesus to our God and Father - that bond and closeness will embrace the one in prayer. Just love the significance in your dream to obediently pray when invited.
And just want to say. . .to magnify this area of prayer - is in no way to diminish other ways we pray & give thanksgiving! Just that this stands out to me in particular in this dream.
Jesus is the Saviour
